Facelifted Porsche 911 GT3 RS tears up the Nurburgring
12.08.2024
The latest 911 GT3 RS has solidified its reputation on the track by securing the fourth spot on the list of fastest Nurburgring lap times. Porsche is committed to enhancing their most extreme 911 model even further, as a refreshed version of the car has been spotted undergoing testing before its anticipated launch later this year. The upgraded 911 GT3 RS, part of the 992.2 generation unveiled in May, maintains its naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine, now delivering 518bhp and 465Nm of torque - a 14bhp improvement from its predecessor.
Although power increases may be slight, Porsche is expected to concentrate on improving the aerodynamics of the car to achieve even greater downforce than the current model's impressive 860kg. The changes to the front of the vehicle seem minimal, but revisions to the rear wheel cladding indicate that there may be redesigned air outlets and a restyled diffuser that could potentially impact the substantial rear spoiler. The updated 911 is anticipated to feature new headlights, rear lights, and a digital instrument cluster, which are likely to also be seen on the GT3 RS.
