Rimac’s single-seater will outpace Formula One cars
05.09.2024
As the veil is lifted on the exhilarating new Rimac Nevera R, Rimac is already hinting at its next daring endeavor—a solo racing vehicle designed to outperform both Le Mans and Formula One cars.
During the Nevera R reveal at Pebble Beach, Mate Rimac, the founder and CEO of Rimac, offered a sneak peek into their latest venture. ‟As the Nevera R aims to push the limits of road cars, we have also been developing another project that aligns with this vision,‟ he stated.
His vision includes a single-seater Rimac vehicle that would outpace the majority of race cars on different tracks, even surpassing Formula 1 and Le Mans competitors. In comparison, the fastest lap around the Nürburgring is currently held by the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo, a Le Mans car with a time of 5:19.55 minutes, while the quickest road car is the Mercedes-AMG One with a time of 6:35.18 minutes.
Rimac is expected to utilize the all-electric, quad-motor setup found in the Nevera R, showcasing 2,107 hp which is 193 hp more than the standard Nevera. While a single-seater based on the Nevera platform has not been revealed yet, the adaptable nature of the architecture was proven with the Pininfarina B95, a roofless speedster. The upcoming single-seater is anticipated to be lighter and equipped with aerodynamic improvements to enhance downforce.
