The new Ferrari hypercar sports Le Mans-inspired design and large aero
07.08.2024
This sneak peek offers the most detailed look yet at Ferrari's upcoming hypercar as it undergoes testing on public roads. The prototype features a bold aero kit and draws inspiration from the successful Ferrari 499P race car. With elements like large bonnet ducts and a striking front splitter, the car's proportions and design are on full display. At the rear, a prominent adjustable wing, high diffuser, and central exhaust tip catch the eye, while a hidden light bar similar to the 499P may be lurking under the camouflage. While details such as the car's name remain a mystery, previous images suggest a hybrid powertrain is in the works. Ferrari has suggested that the hypercar will integrate technology from Formula 1 and Le Mans Hypercar racing.
Ferrari's upcoming hybrid technology is anticipated to deliver over 1,000 horsepower, a key element for a modern hypercar in today's market where electric sedans boasting similar power outputs are already on the scene. This prototype is expected to feature more advanced electric motors and batteries alongside its traditional internal combustion engine, in line with Ferrari's tradition of leading the way in developing new technologies for future models. While the exact engine for this hybrid system has yet to be confirmed, models like the Enzo and LaFerrari suggest that a V12 engine could be a possibility. However, Ferrari's focus on electrification and potential drawbacks of a V12 engine may result in the use of a smaller twin-turbo V8 engine instead. Official details are slated for release later this year or in 2025, generating high levels of excitement for this highly anticipated hypercar.
