Chevrolet cars in Cyprus
Chevrolet in Cyprus means, above all, the Corvette. In the eighth generation the engine moved behind the seats and, for the first time in seventy years, the wheel moved to the right side at the factory — for Japan and Australia. The American supercar stopped arguing with local traffic. We find these cars at closed Japanese auctions and through Australian dealers, translate the paperwork before you decide, and fix the full amount and terms in a single contract — purchase, shipping, customs and registration are on us.
Which versions are worth importing
The core of the range is the Corvette C8 Stingray: a naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V8, a dual-clutch gearbox and a factory right-hand-drive cabin. The Z51 pack adds brakes, cooling, a limited-slip differential and working aero — on the island's winding roads it pays for itself quickly. Above it sit the hybrid all-wheel-drive E-Ray and the track-focused Z06; on all of them the roof panel lifts out and stows in the rear boot. On the Camaro and Tahoe we are direct: they only ever left the factory with the wheel on the left, and registering a left-hand-drive car in Cyprus rarely ends well, so we do not offer them. An honest no beats a car you cannot put on plates.
Buying a used Chevrolet: what matters
We import cars no older than five years, so the question is provenance rather than wear. For Japanese cars the auction sheet gives a verified odometer and a graded condition report — we translate it in full and send it to you before any bid, while the MLIT export certificate confirms the mileage independently. On a Corvette we confirm the right-hand drive is factory, not a conversion — the VIN and first market of sale settle that. We check the underside and wheels, since the low nose collects kerbs, and the gearbox records: the dual-clutch has its own schedules.
Common mistakes when buying one
The biggest is buying a discounted left-hand-drive car from the US and meeting the registration problem after it lands. The second is a conversion sold as factory right-hand drive: invisible from the outside, obvious in the documents. The third is choosing on price without the auction sheet — in sports cars, care history outweighs the odometer. And the fourth is forgetting road tax: it is calculated from CO₂ emissions, and a V8 sits in the upper bands of the scale.
Where we source from and why
Factory right-hand-drive Corvettes exist in two places: Japan and Australia. Japan offers low mileages, documented condition and an auction grade — we work with high-grade cars only. Australia is a dealer market with transparent service history. The cars come three ways: a new factory build, official dealer programmes, and auction stock — we pick the channel to fit the task.
Price and what ownership costs
The Corvette is that rare supercar that is simple to run: a naturally aspirated V8 with no turbos, ordinary service intervals, predictable consumables. The main lines are staggered tyres, brakes if you drive it as it asks, and insurance, worth pricing before the purchase. Road tax depends on CO₂ — run your own number in the calculator. The transaction amount is fixed in the contract before payment and does not grow en route.
How a commission works
You describe the task, we return with candidates and a translated auction sheet for each. You choose; we bid, buy and ship, then handle paperwork and registration. The figure we name is the figure you pay.
If the car you need is not listed here, leave a special-order request. Depending on the model, we will source it from the United Kingdom, Japan or Australia.
