Ask anyone to sketch a Range Rover Sport from memory and they will draw this exact vehicle. Santorini Black over a black Ebony cabin, gloss black details where chrome would normally sit, big split-spoke wheels — the specification that defined how this generation looks in everyone's head. This 2019 SDV6 HSE Dynamic was sourced in the United Kingdom, imported to Cyprus in 2023 through our own commission and has lived on the island ever since. Now its owner is moving on and the vehicle is for sale.

The black theme runs deeper than paint. A gloss black tailgate finisher, Dark Atlas bonnet louvres and 21-inch Style 5085 split-spoke wheels in gloss sparkle silver give the body its stance, while the Santorini Black paintwork carries a metallic depth that reads solid in shade and liquid in the sun. It is the colour this shape was designed around and the one that holds its presence longest in a car park full of newer metal.

Under the bonnet sits the 3.0-litre SDV6 — a twin-turbocharged diesel producing 306 hp and, more to the point, 700 Nm of torque from just above idle. That number is the whole character of the vehicle. It reaches 100 km/h in about 7.2 seconds. The way it does everyday speed matters more: overtakes happen in one squeeze rather than one downshift-and-wait. A fully loaded cabin changes nothing. Consumption settles around 7.6 litres per 100 km, so Limassol to Paphos and back barely moves the needle. CO2 emissions of 202 g/km put the annual road tax at €520 — for a vehicle with this footprint and this torque, a reasonable bill.

It is also a real Land Rover underneath, not a styling exercise. A twin-speed transfer box with low range, Terrain Response 2 with the Dynamic programme, All Terrain Progress Control and torque vectoring by braking sit beneath the black bodywork, with the air suspension raising the body when a dirt track towards a beach or a mountain village asks for it. Uprated 350 mm front brakes handle the way back down. Almost no owner will use half of this hardware. It is still the reason the badge means what it means.

The cabin was specified past the standard sheet. The Extended Leather Upgrade wraps the dashboard and door top rolls in the same perforated Windsor hide as the 16-way memory front seats. Heating covers both rows, front and rear — a March-morning feature that most owners never think to order. Meridian sound, a 10-inch touchscreen with Navigation Pro, the Interactive Driver Display in place of dials, ambient lighting, illuminated metal treadplates and bright pedals finish the environment. Acoustic laminated front glass keeps motorway noise where it belongs, a heated windscreen clears winter condensation in seconds and the powered tailgate opens on a gesture when both hands are full.

Driver assistance covers the daily load: adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera on a vehicle whose bonnet ends further away than it feels.

Three years on Cyprus roads mean the vehicle's recent history happened here, in front of us. We brought it in ourselves — the island has been its home since 2023. The sourcing, the import paperwork and the history check were all done once already, properly.
