Porsche 911 S/C: GT3 without a roof, but with character

For buyers following Porsche in Cyprus, this is the kind of update worth weighing before the next purchase. The new top-end version of the Porsche 911 S/C has finally been released — offering the combination that fans of the brand have long awaited. For the first time, the engine from the Porsche 911 GT3 is paired with a fully electric folding fabric roof. The official price has not yet been announced, but it is expected to start at around €230,000. Previously, Porsche had released a convertible with a GT3-based engine, but the Porsche 911 Speedster was a limited model with a manual roof and a lowered windshield. The new S/C, on the contrary, offers a more practical solution: a fully electric roof and standard windshield height. The equipment includes a range of components from the track world: carbon doors and front fenders borrowed from the Porsche 911 S/T, magnesium wheels, and carbon-ceramic brakes as standard. Combined with bucket-style seats with a carbon frame and a lightweight 6-speed manual transmission, this keeps the weight at 1,475 kg — only about 30 kg more than the previous Speedster. Among the unique details are the black trim around the windshield and individual embroidery in the interior. The S/C is strictly a two-seater: there is no rear row, as in other 911 convertibles. For a more expressive look, the Street Style Package is offered — with exclusive colors, plaid interior trim, and even a wooden gear shift knob. Under the hood is a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine from the GT3 paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. It develops 503 hp and 450 Nm. Thanks to the shortened final drive ratio, acceleration to 100 km/h takes just 3.9 seconds. But it’s not just about the engine. The S/C also received the chassis from the GT3 — making it the first open 911 with a double-wishbone front suspension, a key element of the 992 generation. The settings are closer to the GT3 Touring version — focusing on driving pleasure rather than pure track stiffness. Production of the 911 S/C will not be limited in quantity, but will be time-limited. This means that the model will not become a permanent part of the lineup, like the GT3 or Turbo S, but will remain a sort of temporary offering for those who understand what they are coming for.
