A refreshed version of the Genesis G80 sedan has been released in Korea. The Genesis Electrified G80 was first introduced at the Beijing Auto Show in April and marks the first significant update to the model since its launch in July 2021. The new model features a range of design and technological enhancements to elevate the luxurious experience of the premium G80.
Key updates include an increase in wheelbase by 130 mm for a more spacious interior and an increase in range on a single charge. The front of the vehicle features an updated grille, larger air intakes, and an integrated charging port with a heating function for cold weather. Profile enhancements include new 19-inch wheels for improved aerodynamics and chrome accents for an elegant appearance. At the rear, a cleaner design of the rear bumper is presented, and the color palette has been expanded to 10 options, including unique Matira Blue and Geneva Silver. Inside, the most noticeable change is the increased sense of space. The extended wheelbase has created more legroom (995 mm, an increase of 83 mm) and headroom (950 mm, an increase of 20 mm) according to Genesis.
The new electrified G80 is equipped with advanced technology, including a 27-inch OLED display that combines the infotainment system and instrument panel. It can be split into two or three separate screens according to the driver's preferences. This luxury sedan also features a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, a redesigned steering wheel, revised ambient lighting, and four color combinations to enhance the interior.
A unique feature in the Genesis lineup is the chauffeur mode, designed to provide a smoother driving experience and greater comfort with optimized torque and suspension settings. Rear-seat passengers can enjoy 14-way seat adjustments and the ability to recline up to 40 degrees.
The most notable update for drivers is the addition of a 94 kWh battery, allowing the electric G80 to achieve a range of 475 kilometers on a single charge. The suspension has been improved for a more stable ride. Korean customers can now purchase the new electrified G80.
