Genesis cars in Cyprus

Genesis is the least obvious premium choice here and, for some buyers, the most rational one: a GV80 or G80 arrives with equipment the German marques price as options, without the badge premium built into their figures. The marque is newer to the island, and that raises two questions that must be answered before the purchase, not after: where the car will be serviced and how the warranty stands on an imported example. We answer both in writing on request, before you choose the car. You sign one agreement with the sum and the terms fixed in it, and the import is handled by us end to end.

Which versions are worth importing

The GV80 is the flagship SUV and the car the marque is judged by: presence, a third-row option and a cabin that stands comparison with cars costing half as much again. The GV70 is the size most buyers actually need, and the easier car for town and parking. The G80 answers the saloon brief — quietness and the rear seat. The Electrified versions of both saloons and the GV70 pay no road tax at all, which on short island journeys makes the arithmetic look better still.

Buying a used Genesis: what matters

We import cars under five years old, so the question is specification and history rather than wear. Equipment varies between markets more than the model name suggests, so we confirm the exact specification against the VIN rather than the listing. Then come ownership history, accident data and the service record. On the Electrified versions we check the battery health figure the way we would on any electric car. The warranty position on the specific car goes to you in writing on request, before the decision — not as a verbal reassurance after it.

Common mistakes when buying one

The first is assuming the warranty simply travels with an imported car — the position must be confirmed per car, and we put it in writing. The second is buying without settling where the car will be serviced, while the choice of cars is still open. The third is treating all versions as one: the equipment gap between market specifications is real money. The fourth is comparing advertised prices instead of the final landed price in Cyprus.

Where we source from and why

For Genesis we watch two right-hand-drive markets. The UK gives traceable service records. Japan gives carefully kept cars and the auction sheet as an independent grading of condition. We cost both routes and compare individual cars rather than countries, and you see both sets of numbers before you choose.

Price and what ownership costs

Cars in stock in Cyprus carry a price in the listing. A commission gives you one final landed price — car, shipping, duty and VAT where applicable, registration and our work — confirmed in the agreement before anything is paid. Road tax is calculated on CO₂ output: the Electrified versions are exempt entirely, the petrol GV80 sits in the upper bands, and the diesel and smaller petrol engines land in between. Work out your figure in the road tax calculator.

How a commission works

You describe the brief, we come back with candidates and a report on each. Once you choose, we inspect, negotiate and buy, then handle shipping, paperwork and registration. The figure we quoted does not grow along the way.

If the vehicle you want is not among those listed, open a commission request. Depending on the model we will source it from the UK, Japan or Australia.
