For buyers following Lamborghini in Cyprus, this is the kind of update worth weighing before the next purchase.
The new open Lamborghini Temerario Spyder was spotted during testing both on public roads and on the track, ahead of its world premiere scheduled for the end of this year.
As with previous "junior" supercars from the brand — Gallardo and Huracán — the open-top version appears about two years after the coupe's debut. However, this time Lamborghini seems to be changing its approach: instead of a traditional soft top, the Temerario Spyder will feature a folding metal hardtop. This solution allows for the preservation of the coupe's silhouette, similar to competitors like the Ferrari 296 GTB and McLaren Artura.
Of course, the hard roof adds weight compared to a fabric one, so Lamborghini's engineers likely had to reinforce the body to maintain rigidity. However, the aluminum space frame of the Temerario is already over 20% stiffer than that of the Huracán, which partially compensates for the increase in mass.
During testing, the prototype was not seen with the roof down, but in open configuration, the driver and passenger will be able to fully experience the character of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which revs up to an impressive 10,000 rpm. The engine works in conjunction with three electric motors, delivering a total output of 907 hp and 730 Nm of torque, transmitted to all four wheels.
The Temerario Spyder will be one of several new Lamborghini models expected by the end of the year. Full details have not yet been disclosed, but the company has already hinted at the presentation of new models during major international automotive events in July and August.
Another anticipated new model may be the updated Lamborghini Urus Performante, which was also recently spotted testing. While the Temerario Spyder has not yet gone on sale, versions of the Huracán with a naturally aspirated V10 are still available on the secondary market — some units are currently priced at around €175,000.
