Introducing the newest addition to the world of high-performance hypercars: the NILU. Designed by former head of design at Koenigsegg and Bugatti, Sasha Selipanov, the NILU boasts a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine that can rev beyond 11,000 rpm, mated to a classic seven-speed manual gearbox. Selipanov, renowned for his work on legendary cars like the Bugatti Chiron, Koenigsegg CC850, and Lamborghini Huracan, has now introduced his own hypercar brand called Nilu27, with the NILU serving as its inaugural masterpiece.
Taking cues from classic American muscle cars and modern drift cars, the design of the NILU is a blend of inspiration. With a carbon fiber monocoque chassis, aluminum-alloy subframes, double-wishbone pushrod suspension, and Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, the car is built for performance. Sporting gullwing doors for a striking aesthetic, the fixed-seat two-seater cabin offers easy access. Inside, the minimalist interior features analogue dials, no controls on the steering wheel, and just one screen for the rear-view camera.
At the heart of the NILU lies its strikingly exposed V12 engine, co-created with Hartley Engines of New Zealand. Generating an impressive 1,055bhp and 860Nm of torque, this engine ranks among the most robust naturally aspirated powertrains globally. Boasting 12 separate throttle bodies and configured in a hot-V layout, it excels in heat control and space efficiency. Completing the package is a unique exhaust setup featuring ‟snakepit‟ headers that channel exhaust gases into a tri-tip exhaust.
In contrast to most contemporary hypercars, the NILU is entirely mechanical, devoid of hybrid technology or electric motors. It features an open-gate manual transmission encased in a ceramic-coated, aluminum-alloy subframe. In its initial production, only 15 track-only models of the NILU will be made available, followed by 54 road-legal versions.
The NILU hypercar is set to be unveiled to the public on August 15 at Pebble Beach, as part of Monterey Car Week in California.
