Bentley Bentayga in Cyprus

When the Bentayga arrived in 2015 it was the fastest SUV in the world: 301 km/h, a figure nobody else could match at the time. Its main argument today is a different one — the cabin is still built by Mulliner, an atelier whose history runs back to 1559, four and a half centuries older than the car itself. In Cyprus it is bought as the only car in the family rather than a second one for weekends.

Which versions are worth importing

The body comes in standard or extended wheelbase, and the rear-seat decision cannot be undone later: four individual chairs with a console is a different car from a three-place bench. Engines are the V8 and the W12, plus a plug-in hybrid that on an island of short journeys only makes sense with a charger at home. Everything else — air suspension, active anti-roll, Naim — is worth confirming on the build sheet rather than in photographs.

Four seats or five is the decision that cannot be undone, and the extended-wheelbase car with individual rear seats is a different vehicle to be driven in. The V8 is the version that makes sense to run; the Speed is bought for what it is. Rear-seat entertainment, the Naim system and the factory colour split are the options this market asks for later, and none of them can be added after the fact.

Buying a used Bentley Bentayga: what matters

Two Bentaygas of the same year and colour can differ by the price of a good car, and the difference lives in the order sheet. We pull it by chassis number, then read ownership, dealer service entries and accident data. Consumables are priced in the class of the car — that goes into the arithmetic honestly.

The build sheet comes first and goes into the report as a printout, because two Bentaygas of the same year can sit a third apart on specification alone. Air suspension and the active anti-roll system are read from the service history as the expensive systems they are. Interior condition is priced at hand-finishing rates rather than described, and any bespoke item is checked for whether it can be matched again at all.

Common mistakes when buying one

The first is buying the Hybrid without home charging, which is the whole point of that version. The second is ignoring the order sheet, where the difference between two Bentaygas actually lives. The third is underestimating brakes and tyres on a car of this weight. The fourth is budgeting from the listing and discovering that on a Bentayga the brakes and tyres belong to a different price class than the body suggests.

Where we source from and why

Britain is the Bentayga's home market and the deepest right-hand-drive supply, with main-dealer history traceable through the manufacturer. Built at Crewe — British origin that tells when the import is costed.

Locally the Bentayga surfaces occasionally, almost never in the wanted commissioning tier. The home market carries V8, Hybrid and Speed together with the long-wheelbase cars — the choice this purchase deserves.

Price and what ownership costs

Brakes and tyres are priced above the class the body suggests, and on a car of this weight they are not a rare event. The air suspension record is read before the paint is admired, because it is the unit that decides whether the next three years are quiet or expensive.

A Bentayga in stock shows its price in the listing. Commissioned, the figure is single and landed, with the payment terms fixed in the same agreement.

How a commission works

The paperwork is settled while you are still deciding. One agreement then carries the purchase, the shipping, customs, registration and plates, and that number does not move between signing and handover.

If a Bentayga is what you want, send the brief and we will show you what is actually available this month. Other models are gathered on the Bentley page, together with the cars in stock in Cyprus. We search Britain, Japan and Australia at once, and the car itself points to the market.
