Which versions are worth importing
The Cayenne comes as the standard SUV or the coupe, from the base V6 through S and E-Hybrid to the Turbo. For island use the E-Hybrid with home charging is the rational pick; the Turbo answers a different question entirely.
The version matters less than the chassis specification. Air suspension changes the car more than any engine choice does, and on the island it is the difference between a firm crossover and a comfortable one. Twenty-one inch wheels look right and cost real money in tyres; twenty-inch wheels ride better on Cypriot surfaces. Air suspension and its compressor are the first thing we check in the service records, because that is where the money sits on this model. We confirm the exact chassis options by build sheet — active anti-roll, rear-axle steering, torque vectoring are optional and not visible in photographs. Tyre and brake condition are read as a cost, not a fault: a car arriving on worn 21-inch tyres is several thousand cheaper than it looks.
Common mistakes when buying one
The first is buying by model name: two Cayennes of the same year differ by the price of a small car in packages alone. The second is ignoring the air suspension record, which is the expensive unit here. The third is underestimating consumables — brakes and tyres cost above the class the body suggests. The fourth is comparing a UK advert with a Cyprus one without the shipping, duty and registration in between — on a car this size the gap is not small.
