Tesla Cybertruck Dual-Motor: €54,000, 523 km, and one significant catch

Tesla has added a Dual-Motor All-Wheel Drive Cybertruck at a manufacturer price of around €54,000, broadening the range after the rear-wheel-drive variant struggled commercially.

Since its 2019 unveiling the Cybertruck has been among the most polarising vehicles on the market — a stainless steel body, angular geometry, and a deliberate rejection of how pickups normally look.

What the Dual-Motor version delivers

0–100 km/h takes 4.1 seconds, against 6.5 for the rear-drive model. Range is approximately 523 km on a charge, slightly down from the 563 km of the previous variant. Towing capacity reaches 3,400 kg.

The dual-motor layout improves traction and stability across surfaces. Above it sits the Cyberbeast at around €95,000, with three motors and 0–100 in 2.5 seconds.

Inside, the cabin is minimalist and seats up to six, with heated front seats and a central touchscreen handling navigation, media and vehicle settings. Tesla uses a new textile in place of leather.

What this means for a buyer in Cyprus

Start with registration, not price. The Cybertruck is not type-approved for the European Union, and its dimensions and construction sit outside several EU requirements — pedestrian impact standards among them. In practice this means a Cybertruck cannot simply be imported and plated in Cyprus the way an EU-market vehicle can.

There is no right-hand-drive version. Cyprus drives on the left, and the Cybertruck is built for left-hand-drive markets only.

Size is a genuine constraint here, not a detail. At roughly 2.2 metres wide excluding mirrors, it exceeds many parking bays in Limassol and Nicosia, and older village roads on the island were not laid out for a vehicle of this footprint.

If it could be registered, the running cost would be its strongest argument. Cyprus road tax is calculated on emissions, so a fully electric vehicle of any size sits in the lowest band — a Cybertruck would cost less in annual tax than a mid-size diesel SUV. Worth checking against the calculator if you are comparing electric options generally.

What is realistic instead. For buyers who want an electric Tesla in Cyprus, the Model Y and Model 3 are sold in right-hand drive with EU approval and an established service route. For those who want a pickup, the practical options remain diesel — and the current catalogue shows what is available now.
