The Mercedes GLS received a major update last year, including enhancements to its exterior, interior, and powertrains. But it appears that the German automaker is not finished refining its competition with the BMW X7. Recent spy photos suggest that the 2025 GLS will undergo additional changes, particularly to its front end. The new headlight clusters are more angular, similar to the design seen in other models like the GLC and GLE. Although the grille and lower front bumper are currently covered in camouflage, updates are expected in these areas as well. While the side and rear of the vehicle remain unchanged for now, it is possible that new alloy wheel designs will be introduced with the updated model.
The upcoming GLS is set to finally get a much-needed technological boost. Despite its status as Mercedes' top SUV (excluding the G-Class), the GLS has yet to incorporate the latest interior technology found in models like the EQS SUV with Hyperscreen or the E-Class with Superscreen. The upcoming update could bring a more advanced setup, possibly replacing the current twin 12.3-inch displays with something more cutting-edge. While no significant changes are anticipated for the powertrains.
