BMW cars in Cyprus
On a BMW two identical-looking cars are routinely different money: within a single model the spread in equipment is wider than the spread between models, and the advert will not show it. At resale it shows immediately, and the July heat decides the rest — cooling and service history are what separate a sound car from an expensive one. We search the British and Japanese markets to a specification you set, confirm what is actually fitted against the VIN rather than the listing, and put one landed price in the agreement before anything is paid. Which versions are worth importing
The X7 is for seven seats and presence; the X5 for when the same qualities are wanted in a smaller and cheaper-to-tax package; the X3 when parking in old Limassol matters more. The iX3 is the outlier: an electric SUV of familiar size that pays no road tax at all. The M5 and 8 Series are for buyers who already know what they want and choose by specification rather than badge. The six-cylinder diesels remain sensible over distance.
Buying a used BMW: what matters
We work only with cars up to five years old, and at that age two things decide it: how the cooling package copes with July and what the service history actually covers. On xDrive cars we look additionally at the transfer case and differential — that is where neglected examples reveal themselves. On the M cars we check how the car was used: short oil intervals and documented driveline work say more than the odometer. The packages actually fitted are verified against the chassis number rather than the advert, and the printout goes into the report alongside the ownership history.
Common mistakes when buying one
The first is assuming the model name describes the car: two X5s that look identical can differ by a third of their value. The second is taking a car with flawless paint and an empty history — cosmetic work is cheap on this marque, mechanical work is not. The third is underestimating consumables on the larger SUVs; brakes and tyres on an X7 cost noticeably more than on an X5. The fourth is treating July heat as a theoretical risk. Price and what ownership costs
Cars in stock in Cyprus carry a price in the listing, next to year, mileage and output. A commission gives you one final landed price — car, shipping, duty and VAT where applicable, registration and our work — confirmed in the agreement before anything is paid. Road tax is calculated on CO₂ output: the iX3 and the other electric models are exempt entirely, an X7 with the petrol V8 sits above 180 g/km at ten euros per gram and runs into the fifteen hundred ceiling, and a six-cylinder diesel lands in between.
