In order to stay competitive in the luxury car market, many high-end car manufacturers are now focusing on creating custom-made and unique models. Cadillac is no exception, as they have recently introduced the Sollei Concept, which they believe represents the pinnacle of their custom program. The Sollei draws inspiration from Cadillac's luxurious convertibles of the past, exuding a sense of opulence and grandeur. It incorporates elements from the $400,000 Celestiq, such as the Ultium platform and electric motors, but features a new body design with oversized doors and an open cabin. While the front end of the Sollei resembles the Celestiq, the back end adopts a more traditional open-top silhouette, giving it a classic and vintage Cadillac aesthetic.
The Cadillac Sollei boasts a fresh rear end design, featuring a sleek light bar across the trunk lid and illuminated risers framing the rear bumper. Production-specific touches, such as the illuminated side repeaters and reflectors on the lower bumper, hint at the potential for limited production pending interest. Inside, the interior takes cues from the Celestiq model, sporting a generous 55-inch display screen that spans pillar to pillar and a spacious central tunnel. Despite its minimalistic controls, the design radiates luxury with an art-deco theme, highlighted by detailed wooden veneer accents on the doors, seats, and center console, along with upscale materials like milled aluminum and eco-friendly mushroom-based bio-fabric. While Cadillac has yet to confirm production plans for the Sollei, their aspiration to reclaim the top spot in luxury motoring alongside revered brands like Rolls-Royce and Bentley makes it a possibility. However, don't count on spotting one in your local grocery store parking lot anytime soon.
