Description

Jaguar built the I-PACE to prove that a British car maker could beat the Germans at their own electric game. Then they stopped making it. This 2022 I-Pace HSE Black Limited Edition in Fuji White is one of the last — commissioned from the United Kingdom and delivered to Cyprus. The car that forced the industry to take Jaguar seriously as an EV manufacturer is now a closed chapter. What remains are the ones already on the road and the ones like this — sitting in Cyprus with the full Black pack and a specification that Jaguar never bettered.

The Black Limited Edition takes the HSE and darkens everything around it. Gloss Black grille with a Gloss Black surround. Gloss Black door mirror caps. Gloss Black lower front blades and door claddings. Gloss Black 20-inch five-spoke wheels wrapped in 245/50 rubber. Against the Fuji White paintwork the contrast is immediate and deliberate — a car that looks like it was designed in a single sitting with no committee involved. The rear bumper carries a Gloss Black valance and the body-coloured roof sweeps into a fixed panoramic glass panel that stretches the full length of the cabin ceiling.

Inside, the two-tone Light Oyster and Ebony interior creates a cabin that feels lighter and more spacious than the all-black alternatives. Perforated Windsor leather sport seats with Light Oyster stitching occupy the front row — 16-way electrically adjustable, heated and cooled, with memory and powered lumbar support. The rear bench splits 40:20:40, folds flat and is heated across all three sections. A heated steering wheel in split-rim leather sits ahead of Jaguar's Pivi Pro infotainment system running across twin touchscreens. Gloss Black interior trim ties the cabin treatment back to the exterior theme. The Ebony Morzine headlining and Ebony carpet ground the lighter leather tones and keep the cabin from feeling clinical.

The Meridian 3D Surround Sound system is the highlight of the audio specification. In a cabin this quiet — and an electric car is the quietest cabin you will ever sit in — the Meridian system has nothing to fight against. It fills the space with a depth and spatial quality that conventional stereo systems cannot replicate. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both supported. Connected Navigation Pro with live traffic data handles routing.

Two electric motors produce a combined 400 hp and 696 Nm of torque — all of it available from the moment your foot touches the accelerator. All-wheel drive distributes power to all four corners through torque vectoring by braking. The 0–100 km/h sprint takes 4.8 seconds. No turbo lag. No gearbox delay. No noise. The 90 kWh battery pack provides a WLTP range of approximately 470 kilometres — enough to cover Limassol to Paphos and back twice on a single charge with margin to spare. An 11 kW AC charger handles overnight home charging. CO2 emissions are zero, which means annual road tax in Cyprus is zero. The running costs on this car are a fraction of any combustion equivalent at this performance level.

The suspension is a coil setup — passive, not adaptive — which keeps the ride predictable and well-damped without the complexity of air springs. The I-PACE was designed from the ground up as an electric vehicle, not converted from an existing platform. The battery sits in the floor. The centre of gravity is lower than almost any SUV on the market. The result is a car that handles more like a sports saloon than a crossover, with a planted feel through corners that catches people off guard the first time they drive one.

Adaptive cruise control with steering assist takes over on highway runs. Lane-keeping assist corrects drift. Blind-spot monitoring covers the flanks. A rear-view camera and rear traffic monitor handle reversing. Emergency braking, traffic sign recognition and driver condition monitoring are all fitted. Electric cabin pre-conditioning lets you cool or heat the cabin before you get in — drawing from the mains rather than the battery.

Heated and electric-folding door mirrors with memory, approach lights and auto-dimming on the driver side. Heated, laminated and solar-attenuating windscreen. Heated washer jets. Privacy glass. Powered tailgate. Metal treadplates with Jaguar script. Tyre pressure monitoring. Keyless entry with double locking and intrusion sensor. Clear exit monitor warns passengers of approaching traffic before opening the door.

The boot takes approximately 656 litres with all seats up and expands to over 1,450 litres with the rear bench folded. An additional 27-litre front storage compartment sits under the bonnet where the engine would have been.

This vehicle was commissioned from the UK market and delivered to Cyprus with full import, customs clearance and registration managed end to end. It is not for sale.

Irakli was excellent. Above and beyond everywhere. The easiest car buying process I’ve had, and that's saying something since it was an import rather than a physical dealer. Everything was upfront from the beginning: price, fees, timing, what needed to happen, and what I needed to do. No weird negotiation, no surprises, no feeling like...
