For buyers comparing cars for sale in Cyprus, the points below separate a clean deal from an expensive mistake.
The facelifted Alfa Romeo Tonale SUV is now on sale across the EU starting from €43,700 – nearly €1,150 cheaper than the previous version. For this mid-life update, Alfa’s hybrid-powered SUV gains more aggressive styling, along with a refreshed interior to better compete with rivals such as the Volvo XC40, BMW X1 and Audi Q3.
Alfa Romeo has updated the Tonale — and now the crossover is already on sale across Europe starting at €43,700, which is approximately €1,150 cheaper than the previous version. As part of the facelift, the hybrid SUV received a more aggressive design and a refreshed interior to compete more confidently with the Volvo XC40, BMW X1, and Audi Q3.
The base Sport trim is no longer available — the entry-level version is now simply called Tonale. Even in the "base" model, the crossover is equipped with matrix LED headlights flanking the signature Scudetto grille, as well as 17-inch alloy wheels with diamond-cut finish. Inside, there is a combined trim, dual-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, and a 10.25-inch multimedia screen with support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Adaptive cruise control and a rearview camera are also standard.
The mid-range Ti trim starts at €47,900 and adds expected premium touches: darkened exterior elements, 18-inch wheels, leather seats with heating and ventilation (in black or red), a heated steering wheel with aluminum paddle shifters, and built-in navigation.
The top Veloce version — starting at €50,600 — emphasizes sportiness: it features 19-inch wheels, red Brembo brake calipers, and dual exhaust pipes for plug-in hybrids. The adaptive suspension allows switching between more dynamic and more comfortable driving modes.
A limited edition Tonale Sport Speciale is also available at launch. It features 20-inch wheels, a black-silver body kit, and an interior with black-and-white Alcantara trim. It is priced lower than the Veloce — starting at €49,800.
As before, the Tonale is offered either with a mild-hybrid gasoline engine or with a plug-in hybrid setup (approximately €7,000 more). The mild-hybrid produces 173 hp, transmits power to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, and accelerates to 100 km/h in about 8.5 seconds. Fuel consumption is up to 5.7 l/100 km according to the WLTP cycle.
The plug-in hybrid with a 1.3-liter engine develops 265 hp and is equipped with all-wheel drive. It reduces the acceleration to 100 km/h to 6.6 seconds, and the 15.5 kWh battery allows for up to 62 km of purely electric driving. Both powertrain options remain unchanged compared to the pre-facelift model.
The main changes in the exterior are focused on the front: a redesigned Scudetto grille with four new air intakes and a more aggressive front bumper. The grille design is inspired by the supercar 33 Stradale — with concave elements inside the "floating" frame. Overall, the silhouette remains familiar, but the Tonale looks noticeably sharper and more confident.
Alfa Romeo also claims a wider track and a more "grounded" stance. The body structure has not changed, but visually the crossover appears more composed and stable. New colors have been added to the palette: Rosso Brera, Verde Monza, and Giallo Ocra.
Inside, the changes are subtle but important: the center console has been redesigned, and instead of a classic gear selector, there is now a compact rotary switch. The aluminum paddle shifters remain, and new trim materials with contrasting stitching add a sense of premium quality to the interior.
The multimedia system is familiar from other Alfa Romeo models: a 10.25-inch screen controls media, navigation, and smartphone integration. The interface is simple but functional — everything necessary is in place, and navigation is available in higher trims.
Physical buttons for essential climate functions remain — they are located below the screen next to the signature Alfa Romeo DNA mode selector and the classic volume control knob.
In front of the driver is a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel styled after classic Alfa Romeo dials. In addition to a full navigation map and extended trip information, there is a Heritage mode — with graphics reminiscent of the brand's models from the 1970s.
